Sensibles à l’opinion des résidentes et résidents de Marconi-Alexandra, les AmiEs du parc des Gorilles ont tenu le 15 février 2015 un atelier créatif avec comme objectif la création de propositions d’aménagements pour le site du parc des Gorilles.
Lors de cet atelier, trois grands thèmes phares ont été déterminés pour l’aménagement du site.
Le premier mot à retenir pour la suite des choses est wild, sauvage. Les AmiEs du parc des Gorilles souhaitent donner un aspect sauvage, non sans rappeler l’état de friche que le terrain avait il y a quelques années.
Le deuxième thème à mémoriser est scale, échelle. L’espace aménagé devra prendre en compte la complexité de l’environnement dans lequel il s’insère. Marconi-Alexandra est un quartier aux visages multiples, où les fonctions résidentielles, commerciales et industrielles cohabitent depuis des décennies. L’espace aménagé devra donc prendre en compte ses usagers et leurs habitudes dans le quartier.
Finalement, troisième thème qui se dégage est links, c’est-à-dire l’importance de faire des liens, dans le temps et dans l’espace. Terrain au passé riche, il est hautement considéré par les résidentes et résidents du quartier, qui souhaitent pouvoir laisser un espace convivial en plein Marconi-Alexandra aux générations futures.
Les participantes et participants à l’atelier ont également été invités à se prononcer sur l’aspect physique du futur parc; végétaux, agriculture urbaine, matériaux. Ils ont également été invités à discuter de la programmation de cet espace ainsi qu’à la saisonnalité.
Au terme de cet exercice, deux propositions d’aménagements ont été présentées par les participants. L’Écoquartier Rosemont-La-Petite-Patrie a fait l’effort de synthèse afin de rassembler les propositions citoyennes dans le but de créer une proposition finale d’aménagement suivant un concept imaginé par les citoyens.
Le concept d’aménagement est illustré et détaillé dans un document présentant la vision du parc des Gorilles qui devrait voir le jour en 2017-2018.
Sensitive to the opinions of all residents of Marconi-Alexandra, The Friends of Gorilla Park held a creative workshop, February 15, 2015, with the objective to manage and design the future site.
During this workshop, three main themes were highlighted for the future design and management of the land.
The first key word to retain, is « Wild. » The Friends welcome this important quality to Gorilla Park, not forgetting it was for many years, a wild vacant plot of land before its destruction.
The second theme to memorize, is « Scale. » The management of the space will take into consideration the complex environmental diversity of the sector. Marconi-Alexandra, is a mixed neighbourhood where residents, businesses and industry have all cohabited over the decades. The future design and management of the space will thus take in to consideration the daily habits and practices of all users involved.
And finally, the third theme, « Links. » Loosely defined by the importance of making links to places in time-and-space. The land is highly regarded by the residents of Marconi-Alexandra as a vehicle to welcome lively connections for future generations.
The participants of the workshop were also invited to explore future landscape aspects of the park, with regard to vegetation, urban agriculture and materials. They were asked to comment upon and discuss seasonal events and activities that may take place on the site. At the end of the exercise, two recommendations were presented by the participants for evaluation. The Eco-Quartier of Rosemont- La-Petite Patrie synthesized these recommendations, in order to assemble a document with the goal to creating a final vision for the design and management of the space, according to the concepts and imagination put forth by its citizens.
